Erik LaDue studied Performance and Scenic Design at the University of California, Santa Cruz. There he received his B.A. in Theater Arts and continued his studies to receive a certificate in Performance Studies. While at UCSC, Erik worked as a designer for many student director works, as well as productions with established directors Kinan Valdez (Mummified Deer), Danny Scheie (Orestes, Terrorist) , and Kirsten Brandt (The Thinning Veil). As a part of his studies, his research into the Italian Futurists led to an inspired re-imagining of their once infamous and now little sintesi. This took the form of a production titled Let’s Murder the Moonshine!
Erik is a core member of the Oakland-based Ragged Wing Ensemble, which performs in and manages the Flight Deck, a performing arts venue in the downtown area. He currently works as a freelance Designer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
